Dr. Maria Azizian, MD

About Dr. Azizian

Dr. Azizian earned a BA in biochemistry at Clark University and attended medical school at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed a general surgery residency at the same college and is board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery. She is also a certified physician of the Institute for Functional Medicine and is certified in Functional Dermatology.

She founded Mindful Medical Care in 2015, and she also founded Mindful Medical Functional Clinic. She practices at the Mindful Medical Care office in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. Her functional medicine work runs from consultations to testing and treatment protocols.

She is interested in leaky gut, food sensitivities, and hormonal and genetic issues. As a trained dermoscopist, she performs comprehensive full-body skin exams. She believes in the mind-body connection and works to create a calm, supportive space for patients.

In 2018 she founded MedArmeniaPhilanthropy, Inc., and in 2020 she volunteered as a burn surgeon at the Armenian National Burn Unit during the war in Armenia. She enjoys reading, jazz music, travel and flamenco dancing.
