Review policy

Patient reviews help other patients choose a doctor. This page explains which reviews we publish, which ones we remove and why.

Where reviews come from

Reviews on FindMyDirectDoctor come from several sources: patients who write them on our website, emails and phone calls we receive from patients and from doctors' offices, and conversations with patients in person. We gather them in one place, and our system shows them on each doctor's page.

What we publish

  • We publish positive and negative reviews alike. We never remove a review because it is negative or because a doctor asks us to.
  • Reviewers can choose to post without showing their name.
  • Paying us does not remove or hide a review.

What we remove

We remove a review only for one of these reasons:

  • It is spam or an advertisement.
  • It contains threats, hate speech or abusive language.
  • It shares private health details or personal information about someone.
  • It is not about the care the patient received, or it is clearly about a different doctor.
  • There is good reason to believe it is fake, for example because it was written by the doctor, the practice's staff or a competitor.

Disagree with a review?

If you think a review breaks these rules, tell us. We look at every report within a few business days. A review that follows these rules stays up, even if it is critical.
