About Manita Shrestha

Shrestha founded MindBrook Psychiatry with a mission to remove the barriers between people and quality mental health care. She is a doctoral-prepared, dual board-certified psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioner. She provides medication management and psychotherapy with a holistic, integrative approach.

Visits can include a full psychiatric evaluation, a formal DSM-5 diagnosis and, when appropriate, medication guidance in the same visit. She stresses individualized care built on evidence-based practice. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Rutgers University.

Her earlier degrees are an MSN from New York University and a nursing bachelor's from Hunter College, and she finished a post-master's psychiatric program at Wilkes University. She served for over a decade as Director of Nurse Practitioners. She taught as an adjunct faculty member at NYU Medical Center, mentoring future nurse practitioners.
