Dr. Paula Frantz, MD

About Dr. Frantz

Dr. A Kansas native, she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and completed her pre-med coursework at Kansas State University before earning her MD at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1990. She completed her Family Practice residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, serving as chief resident in her final year.

After a two-year public health service commitment in Norwood and Naturita, Colorado, she moved to Sterling, where she spent almost eight years working in the emergency department at Sterling Regional Med Center. She then spent almost nine years with the Colorado Department of Corrections, serving as Chief Medical Officer for five of those years, followed by three years at the Colorado Plains Physicians Practices clinic. In 2015 she founded Inspire Health Direct Primary Care after growing frustrated with the pace of traditional clinics and insurance-driven care.

Dr. Frantz believes that teaching patients about their health and coaching them through their care decisions are key to maximizing health, and she has served as a clinical preceptor for a trainee. Outside the practice, she enjoys gardening, birdwatching, stargazing, spending time outdoors, and is an avid knitter.
