Dr. Shilpa Diwan, MD

About Dr. Diwan

Dr. Diwan is an adult and geriatric psychiatrist. Her work includes medication management, therapy and perinatal care, which covers pregnancy and postpartum mental health. She completed her psychiatry residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York and served as Chief Resident for one year. She completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Before residency, she earned a Master's in Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Treatment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. It uses medications, genetic testing and integrative treatment where appropriate. She sees patients 18 years and older. Before choosing private practice, she worked in inpatient, outpatient, private group practice and HMO settings.

Centerpointe Psychiatry offers boutique Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and comprehensive psychiatric services under her guidance. She personally oversees every TMS session and follows up with patients.
