About Dr. Wood
Dr. Wood is the founder of Primary Care One, which he developed in 2003. He earned a B.A. in Sociology from West Liberty State College in 1978, with minors in Psychology and History. He started medical school at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in August 1983 and completed a rotating internship at Ohio Valley Medical Center from 1987 to 1988.
In July 1988, he was recruited to become Medical Director of Doctors Urgent Care, then owned by Ohio Valley Medical Center. He purchased Doctors Urgent Care in 1990 after two years as its Medical Director. He previously served as an assistant clinical professor of family medicine and a preceptor at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine, and as team physician for West Liberty State College.
