About Dr. Edgerly

Dr. Richard Edgerly practices direct primary care at Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center in Yakima, Washington, which he co-founded with Holly Porter, LMHC, in 2014. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and Public Health from Washington State University. After spending 13 years in laboratory medicine and healthcare administration, he received his MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his family practice internship and residency at Central Washington Family Medicine in Yakima.

He has served as chairman of the Family Medicine Department at both Yakima Regional and Yakima Valley Memorial hospitals, as Chief of Staff, and in numerous other leadership roles across his career in the Yakima Valley. Before starting his current practice, he served as Physician Director for Health Management Associates at the local and national levels and chaired its Physician Executive Committee. He has also served as medical director for Heartlinks Hospice and Palliative Care and as a medical consultant for Sedera.
