About Dr. Harpe

Dr. Harpe attended the U.S. Naval Academy after high school. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2000. He completed internships in Family Practice and Surgery in the Navy, one year of orthopedic residency training, and a family practice residency at Naval Hospital Bremerton.

His Navy service included tours aboard two ships, time overseas with the U.S. Marines, and a post as Senior Medical Officer to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. He deployed twice to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He retired from the Navy at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor in 2016 after 28 years of service.

Dr. Harpe opened Trout Lake Clinic on 20 February 2017. He moved to Trout Lake after learning about direct primary care at a training conference. His aim was to bring affordable medical care to the rural town and nearby small towns.

He values the model because it puts the physician-patient relationship at the center and removes insurance-related barriers and added costs. He enjoys hiking, archery hunting, fishing, running and cycling.
