About Dr. Ellis

Dr. Ellis went to the University of Michigan Medical School for his medical degree. He did his residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and is fellowship trained in sports medicine.

He started practice in 2008 and was appointed co-team physician for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2014. He has a special interest in shoulder and knee reconstruction done with arthroscopy. His focus areas include knee and shoulder arthroscopy, sports medicine, joint replacement, cartilage restoration and ACL reconstruction.

He aims to treat each patient with the care he would give a family member. He believes communication and patient education matter a great deal to good medical care. Away from work he enjoys running, golfing, biking, basketball, reading and trying restaurants in the Portland area.
