Dr. Rafat Abbasi, MD

About Dr. Abbasi

Dr. Abbasi is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist at Columbia Fertility Associates. She is especially interested in recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure. She continues clinical research with multicenter clinical trials.

She earned her medical degree at the Liaquat University of Health Sciences in Pakistan and completed residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson, MD. She completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Georgetown University Hospital and the pregnancy research branch at the National Institutes of Health. She has served on active duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Belvoir, VA, and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.

She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and a preceptor to first- and second-year medical students. In 2023, she was invited to join the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Committee on Healthcare for Underserved Women.
