Ira Marathe, MD, FACP

"Dr. Marathe joined Lifetime Internal Medicine in April 2020, bringing over 2 decades of clinical experience with her.  She grew up in the Midwest, a product of 2 hard working primary care physician parents. She attended an accelerated combined undergraduate/medical school program in Kansas City, MO, and then did her Internal Medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She remains board certified in Internal Medicine and also attained board certification in Obesity Medicine in 2020.   She and her husband settled in Northern Virginia in 2002, as they felt it was an ideal place to raise a family. She has worked at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, DC and at Inova Primary Care for many years, but she found that her visits with her patients were too short to have adequate time to listen to them deeply. She longed to be able to spend more time with her patients and discovered that the concierge model would allow her to do so. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, thoughtful care across the spectrum of age and health for all adults, and she is accepting new patients."
