About Dr. Walker
Dr. Walker worked in outpatient family medicine before founding The Gold Standard Health, PLLC. She uses lifestyle medicine to focus on preventative and holistic wellness. The practice runs as a direct primary care membership that is paid directly to the practice, and it replaces insurance hassles with a simple monthly membership fee.
Members keep their insurance plans for use elsewhere. She cares for the entire family, including children. She does not prescribe long-term opioids or benzodiazepines for chronic pain or anxiety.
Dr. Walker earned her MD and completed her family medicine residency at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, after earning bachelor's degrees at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Membership and fees
Monthly membership at The Gold Standard Health is $165 for adults 19 to 44 and $180 for adults 45 and older, plus a one-time enrollment fee per member.
Children 0 to 18 in an adult or family membership pay $90 a month, and children from newborn to 18 without an enrolled adult pay $115 a month.
There is a one-time enrollment fee of $100 per member. For families of 2 or more (adults plus children 18 and younger only) enrolled at the same time, it is capped at $250.
Patients enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid cannot currently be members.
Services at the practice include annual physicals, pre-operative clearance exams, urgent care for acute illness and injury, medical weight management, well child exams, sports physicals, PAP smears and in-office EKGs. PAP smears are included in the membership fee.
