About Dr. Strunk
Dr. Strunk graduated from Juniata College in 2000 with a science degree and a minor in education. He was accepted into a master's program in biomedical science at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and graduated from its medical program in 2007. He completed his residency at Altoona Family Physicians in 2010.
He began working at J.C. Blair in 2009. He co-founded Huntingdon Family Physicians, a satellite office of UPMC Altoona Family Physicians, and moved to Broad Top Medical in 2018. In June 2024 he founded Strunk Direct Care.
He moved to direct primary care after Dr. Sean Hampton, who owns and operates Hampton Direct Primary Care in Altoona, introduced him to the model. His approach is warm and holistic and centers on each patient's lifelong health and well-being. The membership model allows for longer consultations so no patient feels rushed.
He enjoys soccer, skiing and the outdoors.
Membership and fees
Monthly membership at Strunk Direct Care for one adult is $80 under 65 and $90 for 65 and over, and for an adult couple it is $150 under 65 and $165 for 65 and over, with each membership valid for 12 months.
One adult plus one child is $130 a month and two adults plus one child is $190 a month, with each additional child $45 and each membership valid for 12 months.
A child alone, 18 and under, is $60 a month per child, and a tele-health and acute only plan is $45 a month.
