About Dr. Serbin

Dr. Serbin is board certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, graduating summa cum laude, and received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and then studied a sports medicine curriculum at the University of Pittsburgh.

He established his own practice in 1988. A 2013 article on independentpediatrician.com says he moved the practice to the concierge model in 2004. Pinnacle Pediatrics is his concierge-style pediatric practice, and it is exclusively house calls, with the visit taking place in the child's home. He answers all phone calls during office hours himself, with no answering service.

He places a strong emphasis on fitness and nutrition, drawing on his sports medicine expertise. He schedules far fewer patients per day than typical pediatric offices because of a much smaller patient base.

Membership and fees

Membership at Pinnacle Pediatrics is $125 a month for children ages 0 to 6, deducted from a credit card.

Children ages 7 to 18 pay $75 a month, deducted from a credit card.

The third child and any further children pay $50 a month, deducted from a credit card.

The fee covers all services Dr. Serbin renders with no added out-of-pocket charge, while specialist referrals, labs, x-rays and hospitalizations are billed to the member's health insurance.

The practice does not participate with insurance plans.
