About Dr. Summers

Dr. Summers is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who earned her degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. She completed a residency at SSM Bone and Joint Hospital at St Anthony in 2018. In 2019 she completed a fellowship at Phoenix Children's Hospital. She is certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

She joined Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists in September 2019 to provide pediatric orthopedics. Her scope of practice also includes trauma, fractures and general orthopedics for children and adults. Her interests include children's spinal deformities, hip preservation, sports injuries, fractures and clubfoot.

She also has an interest in caring for children with special needs. A holistic approach that treats the patient as a whole unit is key to her care. Her osteopathic training included extra musculoskeletal training in osteopathic manipulation. She provides medical services to Ida B. Wells High School and enjoys mentoring kids.

Outside work, she enjoys reading and watching documentaries.
