Dr. Merrill Harris, MD

About Dr. Harris

The American Board of Internal Medicine certified Dr. Harris in internal medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology at Claremont McKenna College. Her medical degree is from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

She trained in residency at Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals, both in Portland. For 17 years, she worked as a hospitalist at Providence Portland Medical Center, managing inpatient care, before joining AIM Health. She supervised and taught resident physicians as a clinical instructor during inpatient medicine rotations.

She also has experience as a medical director in post-acute care, caring for patients in skilled nursing facilities. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She chose AIM Health because its physicians value the relationship between patient and physician.

She emphasizes timely, thorough care and focuses on preventive care and chronic disease management. She was the supervising physician for The Portland Marathon's Finish Line Medical Tent for nearly a decade. She volunteered in NE Portland with the Northeast Community Child Development Center.

Outside work, she enjoys growing plants indoors and outdoors and supports the performing arts community.
