About Dr. Daneshgari

Dr. Firouz Daneshgari is a board-certified urologist and the founder and CEO of BowTie Medical, a direct-primary-care and health-guardianship company. He earned his medical degree from Teheran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in 1983. He completed residencies in urology and in general surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, along with internships in general surgery and pathology at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center, and is board certified in urology by the American Board of Urology.

In 2001, Dr. Daneshgari launched what became the Cleveland Clinic's first fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and grew it into a joint urology-gynecology subspecialty that earned ACGME accreditation as a new board certification by 2011. He worked as an academic surgeon-scientist at the University of Colorado, the Cleveland Clinic, and Case Western Reserve University. He published more than 200 scientific articles, including at least 52 indexed in PubMed, the U.S. National Library of Medicine database, and trained over 100 students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty during his academic career.

In 2014, he founded BowTie Medical, a direct-primary-care and health-guardianship company, and serves as its Founder and CEO. He is the author of the book "Health Guardianship: The Remedy to the Sick Care System." He was named a Regional Top Doctor in 2014.
