About Kristin Pleasant

Kristin Pleasant earned a B.S. in Nursing and a graduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UNC Chapel Hill. She worked as a registered nurse at Duke University Medical Center for five years while completing her graduate FNP degree, then practiced for a year at a family practice in Burgaw, North Carolina, followed by four years in acute and urgent care at Wilmington Health. In February 2019, she co-founded Coastal Direct Health & Wellness with her sister, Jennifer Nomides, MD, MPH, and has been with the practice since. The practice follows a Direct Primary Care model, giving members direct access to their provider through a monthly fee instead of insurance billing, with same-day appointments and longer visit times. Pleasant became interested in nursing after traveling overseas on medical missions. She and her sister are involved in providing medical care to communities in rural Haiti. She also serves on the board of Kythoni, Inc. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, relaxing by the pool or ocean, traveling, and playing golf.
