About Dr. Nayo

Dr. Nayo is a family medicine physician and co-owner of Unorthodoc. She joined in 2020 after practicing broad-spectrum family medicine in a rural North Carolina community. She attended UNC School of Medicine, completed residency at UNC Chapel Hill and is board certified in Family Medicine.

Before medical school, she served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa, in HIV/AIDS public health. She chose primary care because she values relationships and preventive care. She believes health care decisions belong to doctors and patients, not to administrators or insurers.

Unorthodoc offers direct primary care in Carrboro and Durham. Dr. Annis opened the practice in 2015. Outside work, she enjoys trail running, gardening and cooking vegan meals.

Membership and fees

Membership at Unorthodoc is $95 a month or $1,025 a year for adults 19-64, and $105 a month or $1,135 a year for adults 65 and older. If paying monthly, a three-month retainer is required up front.

A child membership for ages 0-18, or up to 26 if in college, is $50 a month or $540 a year. At least one parent or legal guardian must be enrolled with a child, and a three-month retainer is required up front if paying monthly.

A family membership for two adults and two children is $261 a month or $2,820 a year, and a three-month retainer is required up front if paying monthly.
