About Dr. Forrest

Brian Forrest, MD, practices DPC family medicine at Access Healthcare, 1031 West Williams Street, Suite 106, in Apex, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree from NC State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and his MD from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Forrest is board certified in family medicine and is a Certified Clinical Hypertension Specialist, focused on preventing cardiovascular disease.

The Independent Weekly named him Best Doctor in the Triangle. In 2001, he founded Access Healthcare in Apex, a direct primary care family medicine practice, and he has helped physicians in 33 states transition to new models of care. He is a pioneer in the direct primary care movement and serves as President of the DPC Medical Home Association, a nonprofit focused on DPC education and scholarships.

Dr. Forrest has served as an Adjunct Professor of Family Medicine at UNC and East Carolina University. He was named a "ChangeMaker in Medicine" by Medical Economics Magazine in 2018. He has co-authored at least 2 research papers indexed in PubMed.
