About Dr. Gardner
Dr. Gardner moved to Asheville in 2002 and began her career in internal medicine. She co-founded Apple Valley Family Medicine in 2004. There she built skills in preventive medicine, the management of metabolic syndrome, and lifestyle coaching and counseling.
She joined Blue Ridge Premier Medicine in 2012 after ten years of practice. She wanted to give a smaller number of patients more comprehensive care, with longer appointments, access after office hours and coordination of care in the hospital. Dr. Gardner earned degrees in chemistry and English at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.
She attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta on a full scholarship and graduated at the top of her class. She completed her internal medicine residency in a University of North Carolina-affiliated program at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She enjoys a morning workout, cooking experiments and knitting.
