Dr. Sausan Campbell, MD

About Dr. Campbell

Dr. Campbell is board certified in internal medicine. She attended Tufts Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2001, she finished an internal medicine residency at the New England Medical Center.

After residency, she worked at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, a community primary care clinic in greater Boston. She helped build a diabetes education program focused on prevention and on helping patients take their medicines as prescribed. In 2008 she moved to Asheville, where she provided primary care through Three Streams Christian Ministry.

She leads PrimeHealth Hendersonville with Dr. Eric Byrd. The practice offers concierge primary care memberships and also accepts insurance and Medicare. She believes in lifestyle change and prevention and enjoys meeting patients at different stages of their health journey.

She values long-term relationships with patients and colleagues. In medical school, her exposure to patients in a cardiac clinic showed her the impact of diet and lifestyle changes on patient health. She speaks English, Arabic and Bulgarian fluently.

Outside work she plays the piano or violin, tries new sourdough bread recipes and hikes.
