About Dr. Chai

Dr. Chai completed her medical training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She did her psychiatric residency at New York University (NYU). She completed two NYU fellowships, one in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Child Study Center and one in addiction psychiatry in the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

She is board certified in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Dr. Chai has been in clinical practice since 2007. From 2012 to 2019, she was Medical Director of the New York Center for Living.

She has been a Clinical Instructor at NYU since 2012. She treats anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use and social phobias. Her work in addiction medicine includes comprehensive evaluations, recovery support and family-focused interventions.

She combines traditional psychiatric methods with other approaches, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, lifestyle changes and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
