Dr. Richard Bronson, MD

About Dr. Bronson

Dr. Bronson is Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pathology and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at Stony Brook University. He joined the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in 1988. He studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from the New York University School of Medicine.

He completed an internship at Bellevue Hospital, a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and a fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital. He spent two years on research on embryo transfer sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. He served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He is the primary author of more than 80 peer-reviewed research papers, and his laboratory research has centered on understanding why fertilization might fail. He has published poetry collections, founded Padishah Press in 2006, and was nominated Poet Laureate of Suffolk County in June 2021.
