About Dr. Roman

Dr. San Roman is the founder of San Roman Fertility, his private practice. His work focuses on reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He completed his OB/GYN residency training at Robert Wood Johnson and a fellowship at UCLA School of Medicine and Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Earlier in his career, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at SUNY Stony Brook in 1991 and was later promoted to chief of his division there. He directed the OB/GYN teaching program for second and third year medical students at Stony Brook. In 1997 he left Stony Brook to become a division chief at Winthrop University Hospital.

He served as CEO and IVF laboratory director, overseeing one of the largest reproductive endocrinology and infertility companies in New York State. He joined Northwell Health on December 10, 2012 as Clinical Associate Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra and Director of Strategic Initiatives. He is known for an inclusive and nondiscriminatory approach and is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
