About Dr. Poynor
Dr. Poynor is Chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Atria Health and Research Institute in New York. She is a gynecologic oncologist and an advanced pelvic surgeon. She completed her OBGYN residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her PhD in cell biology and genetics is from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
She spent 11 years on the surgical attending team at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. She founded a private practice in New York in 2006. She was the first gynecologic surgeon to use robotic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital.
She has a special interest in helping women manage menopause, aging and gynecological issues.
