Dr. David Nelson, MD

About Dr. Nelson

Dr. Nelson attended Lawrence University and earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed residency or internship at the University of Minnesota, allergy training at USAF Wilford Hall Medical Center and aerospace medicine training at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine. He served in the United States Air Force as a family physician and flight surgeon and continues to serve in the Minnesota Air National Guard as a flight surgeon.

His areas of particular interest include diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, asthma and allergies. He practices as part of an independent, private group, which he says gives him flexibility in caring for his patients. He enjoys working with families and sees the family unit as an extension of a person's health.
