Dr. Selma Amrane, MD

About Dr. Amrane

Dr. Amrane earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Her fellowship in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility lasted three years at Columbia University Medical Center.

Her work centers on infertility, including polycystic ovary syndrome, male factor infertility and infertility caused by endometriosis. Her grandmother was the first female obstetrician in her community, and that story inspired her to become an OB/GYN. Her interest in reproductive endocrinology began during a fourth-year medical school rotation in New York.

She was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the Maryland suburbs of D.C. She has advocated for patient access to fertility treatment, including lobbying on Capitol Hill with groups such as RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association. In her free time she enjoys traveling and dancing.
