About Dr. Tomsen

Dr. Tomsen is a family medicine physician and a co-founder of Antioch MD. He earned a BS in Engineering from the University of Nebraska and his MD from the University of Iowa. He did his residency at Via Christi Family Medicine and was Chief Resident.

He also completed a fellowship in International Family Medicine while serving at a hospital in Galmi, Niger. The AAFP Family Doc Focus blog reported that the fellowship included clinic, inpatient and obstetric care. The same AAFP article reported that he took a job with a federally qualified health center in Wichita before starting his own direct primary care practice.

It also reported that he believes direct primary care lets him build relationships with patients and offer affordable care across a full range of needs. The article adds that he sees affordable care, including obstetrics, for Wichita's underserved patients as vital to his mission.
