About Dr. Schattauer
Dr. Schattauer grew up in Iowa. His first exposure to medicine was volunteering at an obstetrical medical clinic in Lima, Peru, where he worked with an underserved population. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine and spent a year studying theology at Yale Divinity School.
He completed a residency in family practice at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has been a family doctor since 1987. He is the founder and owner of The Green Medical Practice, which opened in the summer of 2010.
Since founding it, he has sought out naturally-minded practitioners to join him in offering integrative, holistic care. His work covers pediatrics, adult medicine and family medicine. He puts an emphasis on nutrition, natural medicine and alternative treatment strategies.
