About Dr. Bailey

James Bailey, MD, is a physician who provides DPC family medicine care at Artisan Primary Care in Post Falls, Idaho. He attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate education, majoring in neurobiology, then earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan, where he received the Dean's Scholarship for academic and leadership excellence. Dr. Bailey trained in Family Medicine at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

He says that during residency he saw how bureaucracy, insurance companies and corporate profits limited his freedom to deliver the quality of care he wanted, and learning about the direct primary care model started him on his career path. His areas of interest and expertise include mental and behavioral health, adolescent medicine, hormone therapy, and preventive health. Outside of work, he enjoys being on or in the water at local lakes, playing board games, and camping.
