About Dr. Akey

Dr. Akey earned a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida. She was the youngest person ever admitted to the University of Florida College of Medicine Junior Honors Medical Program. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency at the Yale School of Medicine.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Integrative and Holistic Medicine, and Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Akey was the founding medical director of North Florida Integrative Medicine. Her focus is prevention, early detection, treatment and management of diseases linked to aging.

Her work also includes detecting chronic disease at its earliest stage. She introduced group medical visits in her practice in 2015, and she often leads them.
