He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, then a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. His current work focuses on reproductive endocrinology and infertility, including IVF. He treats adult patients. Dr. Arici is a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Yale School of Medicine.

He arrived at Yale in 1992 and has held roles that include director of the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Program and coordinator of the fellowship program. He also spent seven years as director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the school.
