Dr. Kristen Cain, MD

About Dr. Cain

Dr. Cain graduated from Jamestown College in North Dakota and completed medical school at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Virginia and an Ob/Gyn residency at Johns Hopkins. She finished a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at UCLA School of Medicine in 1995 and has worked in infertility since.

She is a board-certified Ob/Gyn and a reproductive endocrinologist. Her specializations are reproductive endocrinology, infertility, hysteroscopy, third-party reproduction and PCOS. She was an assistant professor at SUNY Stony Brook.

She helped start a private practice on Long Island that grew into the largest infertility practice there. At that practice she developed the donor egg and fertility preservation programs and opened the first egg bank on Long Island. From 2012 she practiced in Minnesota as one of three reproductive endocrinologists serving North Dakota, northern Minnesota and eastern Montana.

She became a women's health advocate at the state and national level, working to improve access to care for infertility patients.
