About Dr. Strawn

Dr. Strawn earned his medical degree cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2005, after a master's degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown in 2001, an MBA in small business management from the University of Utah in 2000, and a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, also from Utah, in 1995. He completed a general surgical residency, a research fellowship, and a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency, all at the University of California, San Francisco, between 2005 and 2011.

He built a "Plastic Surgery 101" curriculum for junior residents at UCSF, along with a PGY3 general surgery leadership and management training program. In 2003, while training under Dr. Scott Spear, then president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, he performed his first autologous fat grafting and en bloc capsulectomy procedures. He performs revision surgery that can include removing excess capsule, redoing mastopexies, repairing muscles, and fat grafting. He believes that providing patients with emotional support, education, and understanding is essential to help them through the surgical process.

Outside the practice, he is an avid mountain climber who has scaled some of the highest mountains in North and South America, and he enjoys planning outdoor adventures with his family and friends, riding electric mountain bikes, kiteboarding, and skiing.

It was at this moment that I realized fat grafting was such an amazing alternative to breast implants.
