About Dr. Cassileth

Dr. Cassileth earned her MD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1997. She completed a combined general and plastic surgery residency and fellowship program, and a plastic surgery fellowship with a focus on breast reconstruction. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

She launched Cassileth Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills in 2003 and founded the surgery center 436 Beverly Hills in 2007. In 2015 she co-founded the Bedford Breast Center with Dr. Leslie Memsic and Dr. Heather Richardson. In 2025 the practice evolved into The Practice Healthcare, which brings together surgery, breast health, wellness and aesthetics.

Dr. Cassileth pioneered Direct-to-Implant breast reconstruction and published the technique in July 2011. In 2020 she developed SWIM breast reconstruction with Dr. Heather Richardson, which uses the patient's own local tissue and preserves muscle function. She also developed the Pocket Lift breast lift technique.

She tells patients honestly when waiting or a different approach is the better option, since not every patient needs surgery.
