About Dr. Fan

Dr. Fan attended the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in 2003. He completed a surgery internship and an orthopaedic surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

Dr. Fan served over 11 years in the Navy as an orthopaedic surgeon and battalion surgeon for the Marine Corps. He earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In 2005 and 2006 he deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

At Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, he served as Physician Assistant Supervisor and Graduate Medical Education Coordinator while training and caring for Marines and Sailors. He received an honorable discharge in 2014. Today his focus is hip and knee replacement surgery, sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery.

He speaks English and is conversationally fluent in Spanish. Outside work, he enjoys golf, soccer and fishing.
