Dr. Scott Powell, MD

About Dr. Powell

Dr. Powell trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed an internship at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York and an orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYU Langone. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He runs a private practice in Santa Monica, California. The practice focuses on joint preservation, minimally invasive procedures and advanced recovery methods for athletes and other active people.

It provides surgical and non-surgical care for the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle and spine. Non-surgical options include hyaluronic acid injections, Lipogems and PRP therapy. He has served as team physician for the U.S. Men's Under-20 and Women's National Soccer Teams.

He has been featured on the syndicated television show The Doctors. Before medicine, he co-founded the rock and roll revival band Sha Na Na. MyBurbank reported that he co-founded Stetson Powell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Burbank in 2005.
