Dr. Wernher Ovalle, MD

About Dr. Ovalle

Dr. Ovalle is board certified in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1996 and finished his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1999. He has been in private practice since 1999.

He developed his own concierge medicine program to allow more time with patients. He has an interest in geriatric care and has served as Medical Director at numerous skilled nursing facilities. He also served as Director at Crystal Cove Care Center and is Medical Director for Care Choices Home Health.

He helped establish an outpatient mobile clinic that brings medical care to migrant farm camps in San Diego. He set up a scholarship program for local underserved children and serves as team doctor for the Brethren Christian football team. Outside work, he enjoys writing and has played piano since a young age.
