About Dr. Anker

Dr. Anker earned a Bachelor of Science in Genetics with a minor in Theatre Arts at the University of California, Davis. He pursued graduate studies in public health at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. His medical school was Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He completed his internship and residency at the UC Davis Consortium for Medical Education in Modesto. He graduated residency after delivering more than 100 babies as part of his obstetrics training. As a medical student, he trained in pediatric genetics and emergency care at the Garrahan Hospital in Buenos Aires.

He also completed clinical rotations in genetics at the UC Davis MIND Institute and contributed to autism research there and at the SENSE Lab, exploring the effect of theater on children with autism. He offers primary care across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a particular emphasis on complex and high-risk medical conditions. He runs a deliberately small, high-touch practice and limits the number of patients he sees.

His approach to medicine is deliberate, precise and unhurried. Inside Sacramento reported that he began his medical practice in Los Angeles and then expanded to Sacramento, locating the Northern California practice in the back of an independent pharmacy. He provides firefighter physicals and works ringside as a certified physician with USA Boxing.
