About Dr. Snead

Dr. Snead heads the C.A.R.E.S. direct primary care program. He worked in emergency medicine in Anniston for more than 20 years before he helped start C.A.R.E.S. He founded Cares Medical clinic in 2016 and began looking into direct primary care.

He studied the direct primary care idea for more than four years before he became convinced it is a better model of healthcare. He wants to deliver quality medical care through a simple system built on a healthy patient-physician relationship. He attended Birmingham Southern College and the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, then completed a family medicine residency in Tuscaloosa.

He served as President of the Alabama College of Emergency Physicians and sat on many state trauma and workers' compensation committees. He has spoken at a seminar on healthcare for small businesses. He is involved in his local church and enjoys cycling and hiking.
