Dr. John Hibbitts, MD

About Dr. Hibbitts

Dr. Hibbitts earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1994. He completed the Frank R. Noyes fellowship at the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopedic Center. He is a Texas board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Hibbitts is the founding physician of Sunnyvale Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center. He served as a team physician and medical director at hospital systems and private treatment centers in South Carolina and Texas. He focuses on total joint replacement and joint preservation, such as arthroscopic surgery, cartilage transplant and partial joint replacement.

He has done hundreds of these procedures, with expertise in shoulder, hip and knee care. Hip and knee replacements are done as outpatient surgery whenever that is safe and appropriate. He begins with the least invasive choice that can do the job.

He believes patients of any age or activity level should have direct access to high-caliber orthopedic care. Outside work, he enjoys bodybuilding, rugby, Jiu Jitsu, karate and competitive marksmanship.
