About Dr. Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell is a board-certified allergist and immunologist. He earned his MD at Tel Aviv University after a BA in English literature with pre-medical studies at Brown University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, now Mount Sinai West, and a fellowship there in Allergy, Infectious Disease, and Immunology.

He also trained in allergy at the Robert Cooke Allergy Institute in New York City. In his first five years of practice, he did primary care as well as allergy. He was among the first board-certified allergists to embrace sublingual allergy immunotherapy, also called allergy drops.

His interest in holistic medicine began in the mid-1990s. He takes each patient's full medical history himself. Dr. Mitchell sees patients in person in Manhattan and Rockville Centre, Long Island, and by telehealth nationwide.

He teaches medical students as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also hosts a medical podcast, The Smartest Doctor in the Room.
