Esther Huston, DNP

About Esther Huston

Esther Huston is a nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice who works in psychiatric and mental health care. She is board certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Her care is holistic and trauma-informed, which means it respects each person's life experiences.

She helps individuals and families through pregnancy, childbirth and the months after a baby arrives. She treats mood and anxiety problems that can come with pregnancy and birth, along with birth trauma, grief and the change into parenthood. She has lived experience in the foster care system.

She graduated from a year-long University of Iowa fellowship program called LEND, with over 300 hours of training in disability policy, systems design and family-centered care. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, outdoor concerts, gardening, travel and reading.
