About Laurie LaVon Clair

Clair is a physician assistant who founded Clair Mind Health and serves as its Chief Medical Officer. She built the clinic as a psychiatric practice that looks at the whole picture. She has practiced in psychiatry since 2012.

She spent the first decade of her career at a county hospital, treating patients from all walks of life. She treated patients with long histories of sustained trauma and adverse life events. She is board certified as a physician assistant by the NCCPA and board certified in anti-aging medicine.

She is a national lecturer on mental health topics and a frequent clinical preceptor who trains new psychiatric providers. She is the architect behind the Metabolic Psychiatry Clinic, a program for patients whose mental and physical health share a common root in trauma and chronic stress. Clair Mind Health is in-network with most major commercial insurance, Medicare and Iowa Medicaid.
