About Dr. Yaffe

Dr. Yaffe is an orthopedic surgeon at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists. His patients are seen in the practice's Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village and Buffalo Grove offices. Nearly 90% of his surgical services take place at Schaumburg Surgery Center.

He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and holds a subspecialty certification in hand surgery, both from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He studied at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency were also at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.

He completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis. He treats upper extremity trauma, complex fractures, sports and work injuries, arthritis, and nerve and vascular conditions, and he uses biologic injection therapy. He offers minimally invasive and non-surgical care for conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.

His published work covers computer-assisted surgery, complex hand trauma, minimally invasive thumb joint arthroplasty and biologic injection therapy. Outside work he enjoys terrarium design and yoga, and he has run the Chicago marathon eight times.
