Dr. Jeffrey A. Sherman, MD

About Dr. Sherman

Dr. Sherman is a family medicine physician who specializes in primary care behavioral health and addiction medicine. He still sees primary care patients through his VIP concierge practice. He graduated cum laude from Emory University in 1990 with a psychology major.

In 1994 he earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, now Sidney Kimmel Medical College. His internship and family medicine residency were both at Georgia Baptist Medical Center, now Atlanta Medical Center. He has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 1998.

Dr. Sherman launched his own primary care practice, Your Family Doctor, in Peachtree City in 1997. He later joined group practices in Meriwether and Fayette Counties and was Chief of Staff at Warm Springs Medical Center. In 2017 he joined A New Start Medical Center after 10 years of family medicine, drawn by an interest in psychiatry.

Since 2009 he has treated patients with opioid addiction at Treatment Centers of America locations in Newnan, Fayetteville, Kennesaw and Brunswick, and he is its Chief Medical Officer. Outside work he enjoys technology and hard rock and heavy metal music.
