About Dr. Zhu

Dr. Zhu is a psychiatrist. He is board certified in general psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. He received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University and a PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Arizona.

He completed his internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA and had fellowship training in clinical immunology at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. He joined the faculty at Keck School of Medicine/USC, where he was director of the behavioral medicine service at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He returned to Harbor-UCLA as faculty in 2012.

He has served as Associate Residency Program Director in the Harbor-UCLA psychiatry residency program and as co-director of Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry there. His research interest is how the immune system and the brain interact.
