About Dr. Kilmer

Dr. Kilmer earned her MD at U.C. Davis Medical Center and completed her dermatology residency there, serving as Chief Resident. She then completed a laser surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School's Wellman Laboratories of Photomedicine. She stayed at Harvard as faculty for two more years, researching Q-switched lasers and rapidly pulsed CO2 lasers.

Dr. Kilmer founded the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Northern California after returning to Sacramento. She was a principal investigator in the first trials of laser skin resurfacing and laser hair removal, and of pulsed dye and fractional lasers for wrinkles and scars. She has also led many studies on the safety, efficacy and results of body contouring treatments such as CoolSculpting.

Each year she lectures at national and international dermatology meetings, and she directs several laser courses. Dr. Kilmer believes natural-looking results depend heavily on technique. She combines current technology, a skilled hand, attention to detail and an aesthetic eye.

Outside work she enjoys skiing, pickleball, puzzles and beach walks.

I believe healthy skin is beautiful skin!
