How DPC Can Help Manage Your Pregnancy

Updated on: March 26, 2024

The pregnancy period is a special time for a woman, but it can also bring many challenges. Pregnant women need a lot of support and guidance from their healthcare providers, from morning sickness to prenatal tests, labor and delivery to postpartum care. It is, however, possible for pregnant women to experience long wait times, rushed appointments, limited access, and high costs in traditional fee-for-service healthcare. That’s why more and more pregnant women are choosing Direct Primary Care (DPC) as an alternative way to manage their pregnancy.

How DPC Can Help Manage Your Pregnancy

Patients and physicians work directly together in direct primary care, without third parties interfering. Patients pay their physician a recurring fee in exchange for improved access, longer appointments, and price transparency in exchange for a stronger, healthier, more beneficial doctor-patient relationship.

Direct primary care eliminates insurance-related expenses and reduces reliance on costly medical procedures, allowing providers to negotiate lower rates for diagnostic tests, medications, and referrals.

Personalized Pregnancy Management in DPC

As a family doctor, one of my greatest joys is caring for a growing family. I provide prenatal care, manage pregnancy complications, deliver babies (vaginal and cesarean), and postpartum care. I work with OB hospitalists, maternal fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, and lactation consultants to provide you the best care possible.

I chose a unique model of care called Direct Primary Care (DPC). As the FIRST DPC clinic in Corpus Christi, I have high expectations centered on giving you the most individualized care imaginable.

In my DPC practice, I can offer you the following advantages:

  • Flexible and convenient scheduling. You can book your appointments online, and choose the time and date that works best for you. You can also cancel or reschedule your appointments without any penalty or fee.

  • Longer and more relaxed visits. You will have at least 30 minutes with me, and up to an hour if needed. You will not feel rushed or pressured, and you will have ample time to ask questions and share your concerns. I will listen to you attentively, and address all your needs and expectations.

  • Continuity and consistency of care. You will see me every time you visit, and I will be the one who delivers your baby. You will not have to deal with different doctors or nurses, who may not know you or your medical history. You will have a consistent and familiar face throughout your pregnancy journey.

  • Direct and easy communication. You can reach me anytime, day or night, via text, email, phone, or virtual visits. You will not have to go through a receptionist or a nurse, or wait for hours or days for a response. You will have direct access to me, and I will respond to you promptly and personally.

  • Affordable and transparent pricing. You will pay a flat monthly fee, which covers all the services I provide. You will not have to deal with co-pays, deductibles, or surprise bills. You will know exactly what you are paying for, and what you are getting in return.

The skills and experience of a family physician are complemented by the personalized and attentive care of a DPC doctor, in their role as a DPC doctor. In addition to assisting individuals in achieving a new life with physical and spiritual wellness, they are also capable of supporting those who wish to have a new life.
